Was called to Eternal Life on July 27, 2014, at the age of 70 years. He is survived by brothers George and William Karamitis, sister Susan Carriveau, other relatives and Jesuit Brothers.

Dennis attended St. Michael?s Grade School and Berlin High School before attending Marquette University. In 1966, after completing his undergraduate studies, Dennis entered the Society at the Jesuit College, St. Bonifacius, MN. He completed his course of studies at Saint Louis University and Regis College, Toronto. Dennis was ordained on June 20, 1975, made tertianship at Campion House, Omaha and pronounced his final vows on May 5, 1995.

Dennis taught theology as a regent at Marquette University High School (1970-1972) and, after ordination, at Creighton University (1979-1982). He served as pastor of St. Benedict?s Church in Omaha (1982-1985), and as associate pastor of St. Peter?s Church in Jersey City, NJ (1985-1987) and Gesu Parish in Milwaukee, WI (1988-1989). Dennis exercised his priesthood among the Hispanic community and he helped found Korean Catholic Communities in Richmond, VA (1977-1978) and Omaha (1980-1984).

At the age of 50, Dennis returned to studies to earn a doctorate in psychology. Since 2005, Dennis has ministered to numerous people, including many priests, through his private practice as a clinical psychologist in Chicago.Once Dennis put himself to a task, he followed through, no matter the obstacles. His big smile showed his cheerfulness.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 7th at St. Camillus Chapel, 2nd Fl (10100 W. Bluemound Rd, Wauwatosa) from 6 PM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 7 PM. A 9:30 AM graveside service will be held Friday, August 8th at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Milwaukee.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Jesuit Partnership appreciated.

I never forgot Father Dennis. I met him when I was about 17 years. I enjoyed the retreats and youth group meetings. I also remember how I became an alter person and helping during christmas. May God have you in heaven.

On the 8th anniversary of your departure to Our creator, our God, I thank God, and I say thank you Fr. Dennis for your Love and service to God and your neighbor. I thank Jesus for that beautiful dwelling He prepared for you in His Kingdom.

Today, 8/4/2021 is a day of remembrance of Saint John Vianney, a feast day, since He is the patron saint of parish Priests. Happy feast Day Father Dennis.

Today, Sunday 6/14/2015. I learned about the eternal rest of my Dear Friend Fr. Dennis,
I met him in Jersey City, N.J. many years ago.
I did not communicate with him too often for years, lately, on May 22, 2015, I e-mail him in which I talked about Monseñor Romero, who was Beatified on May 23, 2015. For Whom, Fr. Dennis had great respect and admiration, he visited his tomb in El Salvador in the 90's.

Recently, I was made aware of the death of my high school classmate, Fr. Dennis Karamitis and send my deepest sympathy and prayer offering for Dennis and family.
