Dennis epitomized the saying of Rabbi Tarfon, cited in Talmud, in regard to Torah study and perfecting this world: You are not obliged to complete the work, but neither are you free to desist from it. My condolences to his family.

Maureen, I don't recall where Dennis and I first met, because I was director of the Peace and Justice Commission of the Albany Diocese from 1979 - 2013, and our paths crossed many times: Christ the King Parish, the Interfaith Alliance, UNA/USA, WRPI, and the Muslim Solidarity Committee.

There's nothing I can add to Dennis' obituary, which so well describes him as a true Christian gentleman. He followed Jesus' teaching to love others, especially those who are considered worthless...
