Not sure what to say?

To the Kiley Family, Your father was just the best teacher at JHS. He was my history teacher and was always very kind and helpful. He always attended our class reunions, in fact I don´t think he missed many of any of the reunions. In later years he always told me I could call him Dennis but he was always Mr Kiley to me! I never will forget the time he invited me to have a "toddy" with him and his lovely wife Mabel! Who would´ve thought that I would be enjoying a refreshing drink with my...

So sorry to hear of his passing. He was a good person and a teacher who will be remembered my all who knew him.

How fortunate I was to attend Parkside High School and meet Mr. Kiley. Although I was never lucky enough to experience his classroom instruction, everyone knew his exemplary standards for excellence and his refusal to accept mediocrity. He expected your best. He knew the students and always knew your name. He had a way of "watching over us in life". My sisters Connie, Cathy, and I were so appreciative of his visitations when our parents passed. Teaching and coaching at Western often...

To the Kiley Family My sympathies to you on the passing of Mr. Kiley. A truly wonderful man - I knew him as a teacher, coach, mentor and in more recent times as a walking partner at The Crossing. Many great conversations were enjoyed about so many things, including my wife´s chocolate chip cookies which sometimes got into his hands. He was always so generous and caring-in 1982, my baseball team defeated Parkside to win the Class B District! Mr. Kiley immediately came out of the bleachers...

I was sorry to learn that Mr. Kiley had died. He had contributed much to the community and served as a role model to many whom he had taught and coached. I knew him as my tennis coach, but in the years after high school he was always Mr. Kiley to me. Joseph Feinberg (Varsity Tennis JHS 1963)

lots of fun times up at Boyne with the Jackson high Parkside and Lumen Christi coaches and teachers at the Sages

When I was a student at JHS, I worked during the lunch hour in the teachers' dining room. I was the cashier. My job was to total up their food purchase. I had to do it in my head since we didn't have calculators back then. Mr. Kiley would always say that I was taking his last nickel. It was a good laugh. Years later he came to one of our class reunions and I brought this up and he remembered. I also remember him as the coach for the basketball teams. I used to go to all of the home...

Mr. Dennis Kiley was my American History Teacher in 11th grade at Parkside H.S. The most distinct memory I have of him (aside from class) was marching into his Athletic Director's office at PHS and demanding to know why there were no sports opportunities for girls (like track, swimming, gymnastics)--aside from the GAA. He famously replied, "No money..." Of course, this was 1964 and Title IV did not come into force until 4-5 years later... But as aggravated as I was at the time with his...

Denise, so sorry to hear about your dad. He was a great man and will be missed by many people. PHS reunions will not be the same without him. We will not be able to attend the service but know you and your family are in our thoughts and prayers. Don and Sue
