Not sure what to say?

Dennis and I were married for several years. He was a good, supportive man, always with a great sense of humor. He was also a good writer; we often covered the same territories for different papers, so we had a friendly competition. I'm so sorry to hear about his death. My condolences to his family.

My condolences to the family and would like to hear from Linda when she can get back to me, Vicki McCarthy

Dennis and I were classmates in the Journalism Department at Fresno State. So sorry to hear of his passing.

I got to know Dennis when he worked in the Oregonian office on Main Street in Oregon City in the 1980s. There were many memorable characters there, including Rod Patterson, Steve Amick and Vince Kohler.

Dennis held his own. He worked hard and treated everyone fairly. He enjoyed a good joke and was a loyal friend. He cared about people and it showed.

Dennis was a great reporter and a fine fellow to know and work with.

I met Dennis in 2000 when he wrote an article about me , which was enjoyed by many it was "Santa in or out of the suit" I always thought Dennis was a story teller in his writing and a good one too. I am very sorry & sad for his family this world lost a class act and he will be missed RIP Dennis McCarthy.

Dennis was a solid workmate, an even better friend and a truly good man. He cared about journalism and the people it serves. He was quick to laugh, which was infectious. I will miss him.
