Dennis Charles Nichols

I still think of and miss him.

Just this past week, I was thinking of Dennis and so many other friends that have passed on. I sure miss them all.

Oh,-----I still recall from time to time some of his stories about characters in his childhood in Richmond and get a chuckle. Most of them could not be repeated in "polite" company, but they still bring a smile to my face. And limericks. How he could come up with originals I never knew. Lordy, I miss him and the time spent with him.

Dennis had a positive attitude and enjoyment of life that touched all those around him. That attitude defined the time we spent together professionally in Carrollton during the 80's and 90's, and the opportunities we found to catch up in later years. Thank you to all the people who helped care for Dennis, keeping that spirit bright until the end.

Dennis was a delightful and refreshing breath of fresh air. His goodness emanated around him, and I will never forget his huge contribution to Ft. Gaines in founding the Friends of the State Parks at Bagby. My contribution this year and in all future years will be in honor of his tireless efforts on behalf of a place and a people we shared and both held dear.

Dennis was a great friend. I shall miss him.

Grandpa was a loving and caring man full of adventures and great stories. I will greatly miss all of our chats and visits. I am so thankful for the times we had together and will miss him dearly. I am also so thankful for Jen and Chris taking such good care of him. They are such a blessing!
