Not sure what to say?

Capt. Read was great to work for on the USS Arkansas. He always projected how much he cared and appreciated the crew. More than a few times while working in #2 Engine Room I would look up from working on something and find him overlooking my work. Would always ask if I needed any help or if everything was going well. You also can't forget Capt. Read jogging around the ship while at sea. One last salute to my former Captain. From a plankowner crewman of USS ARKANSAS.

Dennis was a member of our Monday morning bible study group and was always a joy to hear his thoughts and comments. Such an inspiration to me and I`m sure everyone in our group. We will miss him dearly.

My favorite CAPT Reed memory occurred at the Group 8 Christmas Ball. He entered the formal event carrying the renown Arkansas Razorback. Betty and I send our most heartfelt condolences.

I still have memories how you worked hard and helped us with new ideas at Rafiki Malawi,we will miss you greatly Dennis. Donna ,may the good Lord who knows how to comfort , comfort you.Psalm 23. Benson Ndovie. Malawi

Rafiki Village Malawi shall live to remember your loving heart, humility and your commitment to the word of God. We are praying for you Madam Donna.

When he came to Rafiki Malawi, he showed so much desire to help out and improve the things the could be made better. He was such a blessing, with so much experience and knowledge. Praying for the family and Madam Donna

Dennis is a wonderful friend and mentor. We served together in Rafiki Villages in Kenya, Uganda, and Malawi. He poured himself into every assignment and was an amazing teacher to all the African staff and Rafiki residents. He is the only non-Chinese friend who would send me Chinese New Year greetings "Kong Hee Fatt Choy" annually without fail. My deepest sympathies to Donna and family for their deep, deep loss as Dennis moves to heaven. I look forward to see him again, together with Jesus...
