Herbert Funeral Home, PC Obituary

Dennis Sielski, age 71, of Manistee, passed away on Saturday, July 12, 2025 with his family by his side.

Dennis was born Sept. 18, 1953 in Manistee, MI to the late Theodore & Dorothy (Slawinski) Sielski.  He was a graduate of Manistee High School with the class of 1971.  Dennis was an avid and skilled woodworking craftsman.  He was employed with Century Boat of Manistee and following its closing, he continued to use his woodworking and carpenrty skills in the construction business, working with SJO Construction of Manistee and Bill Castonia of Ludington.  Dennis started working on the family farm at very early age.  He knew every rock, tree, nook and cranny on the property and really enjoyed taking his daughter and her family on walks of exploration and speaking about the history of the farm.  They joked with him that he was “Sheriff of Linke Road,” because Dennis always made sure everything was taken care of and nothing was out of order.  His absence has left a void in the heart’s of his daughter, grandchildren and son-in-law, whom miss him so much and are grateful for his considerate attention to detail, hardwork and preservation of family legacy.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Elisha & Tom Organ; 2 grandchildren, Evelyn and Luke Organ and his sister, Donna Richards, and nieces and nephews.  Dennis also had many close friends who he liked to spend time and visit with.

In addition to his parents Ted & Dorothy, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Joseph & Mary (Kawalec) Slawinski and Frank & Selma (Zawacki) Sielski.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 31, 2025 at Herbert Funeral Home in Manistee where the family will be from 4:00 to 6:00 pm to receive friends, share stories and celebrate Dennis’s life.

The Herbert Funeral Home of Manistee is in charge of arrangements.
