Best Man Dennis

Forty years ago, I met Dennis through the construction industry. Later we became friends, then great friends. I much admired his hard work ethic, integrity, and dedication. In some ways our lives paralleled. About two decades ago Dennis, Phyllis, Carole (my wife) and I dined together at the Paris casino in Las Vegas. Two years later Dennis and I dined there again. Unfortunately, two of the chairs were empty, we had lost both our mates to cancer. Las Vegas held a special attraction to...

I'm Nora Sorheim Clemetsons grandson. So Sorry to hear of Dennis passing. Our prayers are with you. I'm envisioning a grand reunion up in heaven with all the cousins.

My dear dear Uncle Dennis. He played at my Wedding because my organist was ill. Uncle Dennis was just amazing! He was forever helping my Mom And dad with financial advice. Always there to help. He graced us with his presence at baptisms, confirmations. And graduations. One morn - two years after losing my dad and that year losing my mom. I called him in tears. I said, Uncle Denny does this sorrow and pain ever leave. Is this normal to cry like this. Uncle Dennis said- " Mary it is...

Dennis, you gathered all of us Grandkids to sing in a choir for your father, Harry Sorhiem, for his funeral in Howard, South Dakota. It was such a good memory. All of us together. I was having a hard time relating to his death. To compensate, I had the giggles. I couldn't sing anymore. I just hoped that Harry was laughing along with me at that moment. We loved Grandpa Sorheim in many ways. Dennis was most likely upset with me, but us kids did a good job. Thank you Dennis for conducting this...

We got to know Dennis when we played Bingo in Waterville. I would save him a chair when I knew he was gonna be there. He was a really nice man, we feel Blessed to have known him and we will miss him. Sending our thoughts and prayers to his family.

May Our Heavenly Father bless and keep you. May the Love and Peace of Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, surround you, and give you strength - "Amazing Grace" for us all. From Psalm 30:6, "Weeping may spend the night, but joy comes in the morning." Dennis and Phyllis was a great help to my mom and my dad. I remember Dennis took over one of his son's paper route after filling in and realizing enjoying it. He kept his day job though. I will miss my Singer Brother and singing at the...

Dennis was a very kind man... He was a wonderful, long-time leader with Sons of Norway. I will miss his awesome piano-playing at Vonheim Lodge meetings... He was also a great promoter of the Norwegian Language camps for children. (In fact, our two sons each attended those language immersion camps for many summers.) Dennis' life positively impacted of lives of MANY others!

Dennis was a dear friend. We often walked to school together as he lived on the same street. Prayers to his family.
