DENNIS VODARSIK

Dr. Dennis J. Vodarsik Director of Hillside Welfare Dept., advocate for seniors, 73 Dr. Dennis J. Vodarsik, 73, of Hillside, N.J., passed away on Saturday, Nov. 21, 2015, at Overlook Medical Center in Summit, N.J. Dennis was born in Newark, N.J., and lived in Hillside. He was employed by the Township of Hillside for 38 years in various positions, including the director of the welfare department and as a tireless advocate for seniors, where he served as the Hillside Senior Center Director. Dennis was also a member of many, many organizations. He was the beloved son of the late Joseph L. and Ann M. (nee Ostermiller) Vodarsik; dear brother of John Vodarsik and his wife, Sue, and devoted uncle of Gary, John E., and Joy Vodarsik and Lea, Steven and Joseph Caroscio. The funeral arrangements by the Growney Funeral Home (www.growneyfuneralhome), 1070 N. Broad St., Hillside, N.J., are private. A Memorial Mass is to be announced at a later date. Donations in Dennis's memory can be made to the American Lung Association.
