Dennis H. Yeckel, Sr., 83, of Jeannette, passed away Sunday, November 17, 2024, in the Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg. He was born December 24, 1940, in Jeannette, a son of the late Emma Josephine Kratovil Yeckel.
Dennie was a kind, gentle and thoughtful man who after many years of declining health, always kept a cheerful outlook on life, thinking and putting others first.
Prior to his retirement Dennis was employed for Innovative Carbide LLC, in Irwin. He was a veteran having served with the US Army. Dennis was a member of the Ascension Church, and a 58-year member of the American Legion Post #344, both of Jeannette. He enjoyed golfing, the outdoors, working in his yard, having breakfast with Carbide retirees, and spending time with his four-legged friend Annie.
Dennis is survived by his loving wife Rosemarie Tagliati Yeckel; sons, Dennis H. Yeckel, Jr., and wife Carrie, of N. Ridgeville OH., and Keith A. Yeckel and wife Maria, of Haymarket VA.; grandchildren, Jacob Andrew, Christopher Adam, and Emma Josephine; a brother Jack Mash of Saltsburg, and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 5 to 7pm Friday in the John V. Graziano Funeral Home Inc. 228 North 2nd St. Jeannette. A funeral mass will be celebrated 10:00am Saturday in the Ascension Church with Fr. Job Foote, OSB, as celebrant. Interment will follow in the Grandview Cemetery, Export. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Jeannette Legion Post #344, 109 South 5th St. Jeannette Pa. 15644.
