Not sure what to say?

I only recently learned of Dennis´ passing and of course, it greatly saddened me. I grew up on Rodney Drive, only 10ish houses from where Dennis lived and we were close friends doing what 12 to 17 year olds do. We played football with Chuck Hoch, Gary Wheeler, Phil Troehler, and many others in Centennial Park, and in later years had an after-school poker party that was rather thrilling. I always hoped to have lunch with Dennis where I would show him the scar on my ankle from a ride he gave...

I was ad to hear of Denny´s passing. We were close friends in 9th and 10th grades. I had not seen or spoken to him since I moved from Champaign after 11th grade. We were both smart alicks at that age and enjoyed so many laughs. We were in Explorer Scouts together and enjoyed a keen academic competition in 10th grade chemistry. I´ve thought of Denny often over the years. Sincerely, Tom Shields.

Anne and family, What a wonderful teacher! Denny gave me the opportunity to help to bring more girl scouts to the jamboree and had me teaching the scouts Indian Lore and forensics. He had such a passion for the scouts and teaching whenever and wherever he could. God's blessings to you all. Jen Holhubner

I treasure my Bob Ross coffee mug that Denny gave me during a visit to their place while I was assisting my sister Anne and while I was attempting to make some cigar box dioramas to send in for shows. The most touching gift though was his sharing a tin of screws, bits and bobs from his junk drawer as he could see I might need them for the work. I will miss my brother-in-love and the joy he brought to my sister, Anne. May he build tree houses forever and inspire others often..."To live in...

Denny built a passive solar home for me in the 80's. He was true to his desire for a home's efficiency. He was not afraid to try new ideas that helped in the home's performance. He made my first building experience fun and gave me a great home.
