Derek was larger than life. He added a lot of color to our time at Princeton. His memory will live on.

Derek, no doubt your family and friends are at a loss. May they find peace knowing you are guiding them from above. I remember your laugh and your smile at G Prep. You were always kind to others. God bless you and those you love. Brigid (Flynn) Henderson, class of 1989

What an amazing tribute to an obviously gifted, life loving man. He's gone way to soon, but he obviously lived the time he had to the fullest! What an inspiration! Please know that I am praying for all who mourn the enormous hole that has been left. May God continue to bless his family.

Derek was one of the first people I met in college - and one of my favorite people there. We played football (along with a short stint for me in ROTC ) together. We ended up in the same club later on. A kind, thoughtful, interesting, and just good person. We stayed in touch and had some good times after college together. We last saw him years back in Tahoe on a camping trip that a bunch of us did together, and he was well liked by all. RIP Derek, you will be missed.
