Not sure what to say?

Hello,
We realize that we are very late to express our deepest condolences, but we wanted to let your family and friends know that we will be sending Care Packages to deployed troops this week and several of these will be dedicated to your loved one. Each package will carry the name, photo and hometown of Derek R. Banks US Army Sergeant.
We realize that this is a small tribute, but we do this with all respect and sincerity and we want you to know that it is made possible by...

On this Memorial Day my thoughts and prayers are with the family of SGT Banks. I was privileged to serve Mrs. Banks escort during the service and internment. I will always remember presenting the Gold Star awards to his young son. I pray that you all are doing well.

Banks I don't know what caused me to look this up almost 11 years later. You were one of the 1st people I met in 276th after I got out of Basic and you were my sponsor, then when we got activated we went together and ended up as the gunners in 3rd platoon training together through mob. I never got the chance to thank you for everything you did for me. Everyone in 3rd hated to see you and Lambert go to another platoon at the end of mob but we knew (we thought) it was for the best so you...

Derek (and family) I creid when I learned of your passing, somewhat belated. Recalling the man that taught me the difference in the upward and downward nod while wearing sunglasses. Honored to have served with you in Mosul, Iraq. Thinking about your family today and our last conversation back in Richmond when you were beaming with pride about your son who is about hte same age as mine. I realized at that point you had matured greatly in the short time we were overseas and took great pride...

Hey Bam. Been thinking about you a lot and found out about this page. God bless you, bruh. And thank you for being one of the best friends I've ever had.

What's up Banks!!!
I'm sitting here thinking about you and it makes me happy and sad. I'm happy because with this modern technology, I can type in your name, see your face and read testimonials about how great of a person you were but It makes me sad because you not here anymore. It's been a long time since I visited this site. I've since come home from Afghanistan (thanks for watching over me) and a lot has transpired but trust me, I've never forgotten about you. I have drill this weekend...
