Derek and I worked together at Entergy. I saw him at a company meeting in November; I was aware of his condition. He apparently was also aware that my 18 year old daughter was going through chemotherapy for Hodgkin's lymphoma. Derek made it a point to find me at the meeting (there were hundreds of people there) and to encourage me - "I've been through it, and she's gonna be fine." I was touched then, and am more touched now, at his simple and sincere show of kindness. What a first rate...
