Derek was a great man, he was always kind hearted, never had anything mean to say about anyone. He was always there to lend a hand, or his ear. He was a great friend, we didn't always hanging out, but when we needed each other we were a phone call away. Derek meant a lot to me as a mentor, a colleague, a great friend. I'm going to miss ya, I am going to be sure to cherish my memories of him... My deepest condolences to the Burs family.

Derek and I were born 1 day apart and were in the hospital nursery together, so I guess I can say he was my first friend! We start Kindergarten together, grew up a couple of streets away from each other, went to High School together.
