Calhoun, or gator for short. I miss you bro. Just stopping by to let you know I haven't forgot about you, and your memories live on. RIP Brother

June 23rd
The 5th anniversary of Derek's passing and he has not been forgotten. I wish his family well on this difficult day, as well as his friends.

To the family and friends of Spc. Derek A. Calhoun:
Please accept my remembrance of Derek on the anniversary of his passing and know that he will never be forgotten.

The flag is flying in the sky
A daily reminder of who and why
We sit here remembering them today
These heroes that now lie in their grave.

While here on earth, the bravest ones
A soldier, a mother, a daughter, a son
The father's who went far off to war
To ensure our safety and so much more

To keep our children happy and free,
Someone must do this job, you see
So, today remember the soldiers who served,
Because this is one...

To the family and friends of Spc. Derek A. Calhoun:

Dear Derek,
I just wanted to let you know that we will always honoured all our soldiers fighting for their country. God has once given a fearless soldier (that is you) to fight against the enemy, sadly, he has also taken you away from us. I hope you could somehow read all these msgs written in memory of you. You will always be fondly remembered.

I wanted you to know that I think of Derek often. I wish that I had known him better than through the cookies I sent to him. You must be both proud and grief stricken at his loss. Just wanted you to know that others have not forgotten him. Each June 23rd especially, he is on my mind. Soldiers Angels cookie Mom

To the family of Spc. Derek A. Calhoun:
Derek gave the ultimate sacrifice and will be held in the hearts of Americans forever. I cannot and will not let our fallen heroes be forgotten. My deepest sympathy to you. "Some gave all."

On this Memorial Day, I've set aside time to reflect on the past and remember that your family is now a Gold Star Family, too. Spc. Calhoun, thank you for you service and duty. Thank you for paying the ultimate sacrifice...to protect our country and our freedom.
Sister of Spc. Jeffrey S. Henthorn (Balad, Iraq Feb. 8, 2005)

God bless this special soldier and his grieving loved ones. Be by their side in their time of need.
