Derek Lorin Davis was born on May 18, 1977 to Karl and Aleta Davis. Derek was the youngest of three children. From birth, Derek faced medical challenges that included seizures, severe allergies, asthma, and other medical infirmities. However, Derek confronted each trial with determination. Despite these hardships Derek maintained a contagious smile and a funny sense of humor.

Derek Lorin Davis, 34, of Shelley, passed away Sunday, Feb. 26, 2012, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center from natural causes, surrounded by family.

Derek was born May 18, 1977, the third child of Karl and Aleta Davis. He grew up in Woodville and attended Shelley High School.

Afterward, he began his profession as a cabinetmaker. Up until the time of his death, he worked for Woodland Furniture. He loved to work with wood and enjoyed seeing the results after building...
