I had the great pleasure to know Derek for the past 30 years and worked with him for 20 at RPC. Derek was an incredible guy with an amazing sense of humor and wit. He was always kind, generous and thoughtful. Derek was incredibly smart and always had amazing insight into many topics. Both of us served in the military and would often share stories from our time in. I'll also never forget the time we went to see the Grateful Dead and Bob Dylan at Darien Lake..what a time! Derek was my best friend all through high school. We won the Monroe County Chess Championship together and spent many hours across the board from each other. We spent every day together for the better part of five years, delivering papers and eating pizza. Our love for the Beatles was a constant. Derek changed my life from one of obedience to valuing my own identity. The time we spent together remains the highlight of my life.
