To the Degroat family, I send all my condolences and prayers to you. Dereck was truley and amazing man who always knew how to make someone feel better, his smile and ever positive attitude with be missed eternally by not only me but everyone who has ever had the opportunity to speak with him.

Derek always greeted everyone with a smile and a joke. The years I spent with him at Camp Watonka will forever be in my heart. He was always so helpful and resourceful. His love for the camp was so obvious, he knew the place inside and out. He became my daughters good friend and it was so nice running into him in Honesdale often.

Dear Mike and Shiela, I am so sorry for this tragedy. Jessica, Devon and I were all heart-broken when we heard the news. Derrek was always smiling and was always respectful when he was at my home. We may have been gone the past 6 years in Arkansas, but your family has always been close to our hearts. We talk about memories often on Volunteer Way. Derrek will be missed by us all.
