Derek William Gillilan, age 39 of Sebring, Florida passed away on August 10, 2023. Derek loved music and playing the Lottery. He lived life on his own terms, his love for old cars, music from the 80’s and collecting antiques and items from the past. He was also very protective. Derek never met a stranger and always put others before himself. He is survived by his Sister-in-Law- Tammy Gillilan; Nieces- Mariah Gillilan, Patricia Gillilan, Tiffeny Gillilan and Sebrina Bohannon. Derek is preceded in death by his Parents and Brother (Bubba).

I have known Derek since 2001 when I met his mother Linda and his brother David whom I had the pleasure of working with for many years at Wal-Mart. His mom was like a second mother to me. Derek was a unique person and I remember helping him out once when his mom was in the hospital. I stopped by to see if he needed anything and he just wanted some chips and some soda, so I went to Wal-Mart and got him a big bag of chips and some soda.
