Derek Lee "D.J." Jester

Derek “D.J.” Lee Jester, age 35, of Glenwood, died Monday, February 16, 2009.

He was born on July 14, 1973, at Hot Springs, the son of Johnny Lee Jester and Jackie Lou LaFevers Jester.

He was a graduate of Lake Hamilton High School, where he participated in basketball, baseball and golf. He attended Henderson State University, where he was a member of the golf team and Kappa Iota of Theta XI. He was a Razorback fan and followed the Hogs in all sports. He enjoyed his time on the golf course, playing and helping young athletes learn the game of golf. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and wildlife photography.

He is survived by his parents, Johnny and Jackie Jester of Glenwood; one brother, Denny Jester of Bonnerdale; one sister and brother-in-law, Jerri and Shane Beebe of Glenwood; three nieces, Jalyn Jester, Carley Beebe and Denby Jester; and two nephews, Cole Beebe and Chase Beebe.

Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, February 21, 2009, at the Glenwood First Baptist Church with Bro. Kevin Smead, Pastor Ryan Long and Bro. Jackie Herring officiating.

Visitation will be held Friday, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.

Interment will be in the Mount Tabor Cemetery under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood.

Pallbearers will be Damon Ewing, John West, David Tidwell, Jonathon Oliver, Cole Beebe and Walter Pate.

Honorary pallbearers will be Eddie Bright, Greg Galloway, Jimmy Angel, Doug Dumont, Jackie Herring, Andrew Gonzales, Anthony Woods, Richard Brown and Richard Wright.
