Not sure what to say?

Megan,
I just heard about Derek. I am so very sorry for your loss. I hope you find comfort in the memories and the goodtimes you had together. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Please take care and know others care about you.

I heard about this on the news and was completely shocked when I reconized his name. I looked it up online and saddly enough Im a year behind on this. You guys were always really nice Carson Will and Max will grow up to be great.

Dear Dick, Georgia and Family,

We were stunned and deeply saddened
when we heard of Derek's death. Please know our hearts are with you and your whole family, especially Derek's wife and children. It is a blessing that they have the security and warmth
of your extended family to help them through this horrible ordeal.
After the holidays, we will call you.

Please accept my deepest symapthies. Derek kept finding a way in my life and was such a cool dude. I met him at Grinnell and bonded as he was from Lawrence and I from Topeka. Then, when I worked at FNB Lawrence while getting my MBA at KU, Mrs. Golden was one of the nicest head honchos and told me about her daugher dating someone who went to Grinnell. "Sure, I know Derek", great guy. Then, he appears at Sprint when I was also working there. Finally, I see him on the Plaza in April and we...

I suppose there are no "right words" to say when something this senseless happens. I knew Derek as an LHS classmate and fellow performer in SYT and am so glad I knew him, if only a little bit. He was warm, funny, handsome and kind. I send my heartfelt condolences to his family and friends. Each time I take the stage to sing, I will dedicate part of my performance to him.

Dear Meghan, Richard, and Georgia-

I was deeply saddened to hear about your loss. I will always remember what a great and generous friend Derek was. You are frequently in my thoughts.

My condolences,
John Comeau

Meghan,
Bryon Gilbert e-mailed and told me about your loss. I know it has been a long time since the days we were all at BKD, but my heart hurts for you and your family just the same. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Libby, Brian, Meghan, Georgia & Richard --
I am deeply saddened to hear of Derek's passing. Please know that we always remember Derek with such joy from Plymouth, school, and SYT. His wit and kindness live on in his memory. Our family's thoughts and prayers are with you and your families during this difficult time.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I worked with Derek at Sprint and found him to be quite the family man. Stay strong.
