Dear Mr. and Mrs. Spring, My name is Linda Murillo. I lost my son Tyler, who was in your son's class. I know of your pain and I bless you for the path you will be walking. I am here at any time if you need me. May I share this wonderful poem with you which was sent to me in my son's guestbook when he died. It has been a wonderful comfort to me to read these words. God Bless You.

To My Dearest Family;

To my dearest...

Mr. & Mrs. Spring,
we both miss and love Derek with all of are hearts & we will never stop loving him! We pray for you guys so much and we want you to know that we love you both and Daniele with everything that we are!!
God Bless.

Dear Mr. and Mrs. Spring: I am so very sorry for your profound loss. As a parent who lost a son to the disease of addiction, I empathize with your heartbreak.

I'm writing to applaud you for your courageous and selfless tribute to Derek by asking the community to come together to fight this plague.

This one seemingly simple request is in reality quite powerful. I just want you to know that I am so sorry for your loss and I thank you for taking a stand for other children.

I was so emotional and grateful for your beautifully written tribute to your son. I lost my own 22 year old son, Brett, on 6-19-05 which was Father's Day. The pain, questions, and daily struggle to go on are ever present, but I am out there spreading the word on the dangers of drugs by speaking at schools, shelters, etc. God bless you for the courage to stand up to this disease afflicting our beautiful children. Chris Tozzo

As a mother and grandmother I can only imagine your pain and sorrow.Thank you for that very brave obituary.

To The Spring Family,
Derek was at our home on Friday with my daughters, Kelsey, Asley and Courtney Hannon. They laughed many hours with Derek and loved him dearly. I am so very sorry. We will not forget him and we will join this fight against the drugs and the destruction of our young adults.
Please let us know if there is anything we can help with.
Know that God is standing next to all of you,
Holly Hannon
