My deepest condolences to you all in this time of bereavement. I had the pleasure of working with Derrell in the Cleveland Heights-University Heights school district for many years. I will always remember the laughter and good times that we shared at Wiley and Heights.

I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Daniels at Valley Forge. He impressed me as a one who cared for the students and did his utmost to encourage them to do better. His warm and friendly manner will be missed. I am sorry for his family with the loss they are feeling. He was a good person.

We are sorry to hear of Derrell’s passing . We thought very highly of him and will miss him.
He was a first class individual. We will personally miss him and I am sure those at volleyball matches will miss him too.

I would like to send a heartfelt thanks to a man who persuaded me to enter into the profession of officiating volleyball. To see you on the stand as a representive of the African-American community gave me a sense of great pride and purpose and I will be forever grateful.

I didn't really know Mr. Daniels, I saw him in school and stuff, but then I heard he was out of school, because he had cancer. So, crossfire decided to go to his house and to visit him and just give him best wishes, and let me tell you, it was an inspirational day.
