Derrick was one of the coolest freshmens I knew last year. I was cool with him from then on. Everybody was. I really missed him, and when I found out that he got killed, I was on the computer, and my best friend was talking to her boyfriend and he told her. I was shocked as ever, and at first I didn't believe it because I had just saw him that Friday in school. So I waited until Monday to see if he would be in the Commons like always, but he wasn't there. Instead, his mother and father...

My deepest sympathy goes out to my brother and sister-n-law. I still can't believe what happened, but all things happen for a reason. God don't make any mistakes. May God keep on blessing the whole family and I will continue to pray for yall!

I was shocked and saddened to hear of Derrick's death. It was a pleasure to serve as his physician for the past five years and I will miss seeing him each year now. May your family be comforted in knowing that the Lord will not put more on you that what you are able to bear. I am here for your family if you need anything.

I am personally touched by your loss . Derrick attended my middle school and high school . May the Lord`s blessings and strength be with you , and my prayers and sympathy go out to your entire family .

I'm sorry for your loss. I knew Derrick from middle school (Morse c/o 05 Misses you deeply Derrick) He would always have me laughing no matter what class we were in. He had a big heart,and he really did care. I still can't believe that he is gone. I will keep you all in my prayers.
