Your son is a hero. As a former airman with a Marine Corp vet son the same age and background as DeShon, leaves no doubt about his outstanding possibilities. May your God bless you all.

The Otey and Mays Families I am sorry for the lost of your son. Mrs. Mays feel that my family and you may have crossed paths in the past during a visit to Houston in the early 80's. I fill very sad even if this true, but also the lost of a great person with positive possiblities. As a former soldier I feel that I have lost comrade, brother of arms. God bless you all.

To the parents and friends of Lance Cpl. Deshon E. Otey:
You son is a hero and will never be forgotten. From what I read of him, he reminds me of me when I served in the military. I'm sorry that he had to make the ultimate sacrifice, but always remember that he served his country and died for it. I know that doesn't make it any easier, but he died a man doing a man's job. Be brave and strong like Deshon, and you will make him proud.
