Desmond Taylor, Sr.

It is with the heaviest of hearts and great sorrow that we share the news of Desmond Taylor, Sr., 49, being called home to rest on Saturday, April 15, 2023. Desmond was a big man with an even bigger heart.  Desmond was an earnest listening ear to anyone who sought his wisdom and an even better student.  With an open heart, there was no deed too great. A life-long learner and lover of God, Desmond believed that through Christ all things are possible. Desmond had a passion to live life to the fullest.  He believed that life was meant to be enjoyed, and if there was anything Desmond wanted to do, he didn’t waste time.  Desmond loved not letting grass grow under his feet. He was incredibly loving to his family and was fun; something hilarious often happened when he was around. His zeal and thirst for growth led him to a healthy career in residential and commercial construction.  He pivoted from A to Z Construction to A to Z Containers, LLC. Generational wealth creation was his goal.  As planned his legacy continues through his children. We all loved Desmond, but God loved him best.  Desmond was a devoted husband to Natasha Taylor with whom he shared 24 years of blissful matrimony.  Natasha and Desmond’s love was tested but proved to be tried and true.  He was the proud son of Eloise Taylor and the late Donald Slan.  He was also a present and devoted father to Ashley (Malcolm), Natori, Desmond II (Shatoya), and Demond.  Desmond was the proud brother to five (5) sisters - Sinnidra T., Aisha T., Deanna D., Sherell M., and Tykeisha S. and  brother to Robert Taylor & Larry B.  Family and friends are invited to attend the Homegoing Celebration on Saturday, April 29, 2023 at City of Love Church, 8601 Palmetto St., New Orleans, LA 70118.  Visitation starts at 10am to 11am with the service immediately following. Interment Providence Memorial Park, 8200 Airline Drive, Metairie, LA 70003. A TRADITIONAL JAZZ FUNERAL. You may sign the guest book on www.gertrudegeddeswillis.com. Funeral services entrusted to Gertrude Geddes Willis Funeral Homes, 2120 Jackson Ave., New Orleans, LA 70113.

As time go on, I guess we all understood your vision. Sorry to see you go so soon but I’m thankful god allowed us to witness an...

My dad was a wonderful person who cared deeply about his family, friends, and business clients & partners. He was incredibly generous to love he came across. He was loved immensely by many and will be missed always by us all.
