Despina Trifon, of Burton, age 69, died Monday, July 29, 2013 at her residence. Funeral service will be held at 11am Friday, August 2, 2013 at Assumption Greek Orthodox Church, 2245 East Baldwin Road, Grand Blanc, Father Angelo Maggos officiating. Burial in Evergreen Cemetery. Those desiring may make contributions to Assumption Greek Orthodox Church or Gentiva Hospice. Visitation 12-3pm and 5-8pm Thursday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint. A Trisagion Service will be held at 7pm Thursday evening at the funeral home. Despina will be at the church from 10:30am Friday until the time of the service. Despina was born in Rhodes, Greece, the daughter of Emmanouil Ioannis Giannouris and Andrianna Hazoglou. On October 8, 1961 she married Everett Trifon and he preceded her in death in 2010. Despina was a member of Assumption Greek Orthodox Church. Surviving are children, Georgia (Alex) Kocoves of West Bloomfield, Andrea (Dave) Gordon of Milford and Nick Trifon of Grand Blanc; grandchildren, Lauren, Dean, Evan, Drew, Chloe, Alex and Ethan; siblings, Anastasia Kleanthis, George and Anna Giannouris, Stergoula and Dimitri Potsos, Ioannis Giannouris, Vasilia Varvoudakis and brother-in-law, Nick (Anna) Georgiou; many nieces, nephews; Godchildren, family and friends.
