DEVON ROYCE "DON" BUTTERFIELD

I was thinking of how 45+ years ago Don changed the trajectory of my life by hiring me to work as a Material Cost Analyst withing the Purchasing department at General Dynamics. I also remember his last words to me on my final day their when the company laid off so many people following the loss of a Cruise Missile contract. "Don't sell yourself short." I didn't and went on to finish my MBA which GD incentivized in 1980. Eternally grateful for this good man.

Don was good man with a great sense of humor. I worked with him at Convair. He will be in my prayers.

Don was a good friend & fellow Purchasing Agent at Convair before he moved to the Electronics Division of GD. Recently, on occasion, a bunch of us former purchasing types would get together & joke about old times at lunch. He will be sorely missed by his old buddies as well.
