Reed & Hall Mortuary - Quincy Obituary

De’vonte Montrez Allen, affectionately known as “Vonte” and “Lil Bingo”, was born on July 17, 2002, in Tallahassee, Florida, to Jera Francis and Carlos Allen. He was a beloved son, father, brother, and friend whose vibrant personality and infectious spirit touched the lives of all who knew him.

A proud graduate of Gadsden County High School in 2020, De’vonte was dedicated to bettering his future. He earned his CDL and worked as an independent contractor for Lowe’s, delivering appliances, where he made a positive impact on everyone around him. De’vonte was known for his hard work, as well as his warm, respectful nature, which always showed kindness to others in both his personal and professional life.

De’vonte had a great sense of humor that could light up any room. His quick wit and ability to make people laugh were just some of the many qualities that endeared him to family and friends. He had a natural ability to bring joy, and his playful spirit will be sorely missed.

De’vonte’s spiritual journey began early at Greater St. Paul Primitive Baptist Church, where he accepted Christ as his Savior and was an active member of the youth choir. He later joined St. James AME Church, continuing his commitment to God.

He leaves to cherish his memories: three Sons: Karson Allen, Kayden Johnson,  and Zyhir Allen; Mother: Jera Francis, Father: Carlos Allen; Brothers: DeCarlos Allen, X’Zayvion Allen, Trey Roney, Jaden Allen, and Zymir Allen; Sisters: Shakerria Allen, and Shakaitlyn Allen; Grandparents: Sadie Nealy, John Earl Francis, Sr. (Lealer), Linda Allen, and Joseph Allen (Angela); Aunts: Taneka Lanier, Shavonda Nealy, Yolanda Nealy, Shanicie Smith, Kimberly Francis, Tamara Francis, Tameka Francis, Jazz’lyn Franics, Leah Jefferson, and Chandra Russ; Uncles: Reginald Allen, Kenneth Allen (EllaDora), Yarkari Byrd, Donte Francis, Leroy Francis, Christopher Francis, Terrance Francis, and Terrell Jefferson; six Nephews and Nieces: Lilliana, Jhade, Devontez, Aiden, Denver and Dakota; Godmother: Donna Graham; God-sister: Tiersa Jefferson; God-brother: Jeremiah Bailey; extended family, the Powells; and a host of other relatives and sorrowing friends, all of whom will forever hold him close in their hearts.

De’vonte will always be remembered for his laughter, respect for others, and the joy he brought to everyone around him.

De’vonte was preceded in death by his Uncle: John Earl Francis, Jr.

Going to miss you cuz you you was a cool dude

My condolences to the entire family.

Bingo will truly be missed. He had an infectious smile that would brighten a room. I've only knew him for a few years through my son, and when he was around there was always laughter in the room. I give thanks for the friendship developed with my son and for him working right along with him in the delivery business.

Our Condolences!
