Not sure what to say?

I am so very sorry to hear this. I worked with Dr Marcus for over 10 years and had the most respect for her. I lost touch with her when I lost my email account and I could not get back in touch with her. My coworker Beverly and I have been trying to get in touch with her for quite some time. She was the best doctor I have ever worked for. I still to this day refer back to things that she taught me.

She was a wonderful internist. Listened to me with deep interest and empathy. She was irreplaceable.

I met Devra as she was in the circle of wonderful "art friends" of which my mom Molly was a part. She was a light in her life and I appreciated her kindness and advice during my Mom's life and illness. She was generous of spirit and knowledge and will be missed! Sending deepest condolences to family and friends.

Dr. Devra Marcus was my primary physician. She easily was the best physician I ever had. She treated her patients with dignity and care. i remember her telling me more about every single medicine she prescribed. At one time when i was hospitalized, she called tne hospital evey single day i was there. I will miss her.

Dr. Marcus was my primary care physician for many years as she was for so many of us at the IMF. She was a uniquely caring and talented physician, who was my lifeline when I was diagnosed with cancer in my early 40s. She will remain in the fond memory of her many patients.

My sincere condolences to Dr. Marcus´ family and friends. I became her patient in my mid-twenties and benefitted from her sage advice on health and other topics over the next three decades. Time permitting, we enjoyed lively discussions about the U.S. and world economies and her humanitarian work in developing countries, especially Haiti.

I'm so very sorry to learn that Devra has passed away. She took several classes with me at a local bookstore in DC and we all benefited from her unique combination of intellect, humor, and deep empathy. I am so blessed to have known her and hope information about a memorial service in the spring will be posted here.

I loved Dr. Marcus. As my PCP for more than 20 years, Dr. Marcus was an empathetic and engaged practitioner and I missed her terribly when she retired. I've often recalled our relationship over the years--which was not just that of doctor and patient. I smile as I recall that she once tried to set me up on a blind date and, too--although I wasn't able to attend--that I was invited to a retirement party being held in her honor. I have such happy memories of Dr. Marcus. My deepest condolences...

I am shocked & saddened by Devra's passing, ever marveling at her years of generous care of countless mutual, grateful patients...all praising her tireless, empathic, personal attention to their health care challenges. With heartfelt condolences to her devoted children.
