Not sure what to say?

To Colton & Erika & all Kent's friends and family, I want to say something that will make us all feel better, but there are no words that will do that right now. A very special person has left us but we can all remember all the times he made us laugh even as he tried his best to embarass us. Erika, I know you remember him holding your hand & skipping down the mall and blowing his car horn as he followed you & your friends as you walked down the sidewalk. He did much worse to me. It was always...

I am Arnold Charles Freeman, known as Charles, husband of Annette, first cousin to Kent by marriage. Having been married to Annette for forty three years, I came to know and love Kent. To add to what Annette has said, two characteristics of Kent come to mind, his intellect and his sense of humor. One could tell in a couple of minutes conversation with Kent that he had a great intellect, an expansive intelligence. He must have read a great deal as he was well read with a very broad knowledge...

My My ... where do I start ... The loss of my twin cousin Kent has taken me back to a time in our lives that will always be a great memory of a fantastic person. Although Kent was 2 years younger than me, you would never have known it because he was always tall for his age. The summers we spent together on our grandparents farm, riding the old mule "grey", our grandfather offering 25 cents for the first to ride a young bull ... we rode that little bull so much in a day that it would just lay...

Dewey KENT LOCKHART held and will always hold a special place in my heart! I am Annette Smith Freeman and KENT was my first cousin. His mother, Mary SUE BARNES LOCKHART, was my mother’s youngest sister. Because I am twelve years older than KENT, my memories of him go back to his infancy in Birmingham, Alabama. One particular early memory of him is at about age two months lying in his baby bed smiling widely, and waving his arms, kicking his legs happily as he awaited a...

My name is Bridget and I am Erika's sister-n-law. I have had the pleasure of getting to know Kent at Colton's games and birthday parties. He never missed. He was always kind, friendly, and always smiling. Of all the times I was around him, he never complained of being sick. He was a very strong man. He was wonderful to Colton and Erika. To hear Erika talk about him, and to watch him with Erika and Colton, he is the "Pop Pop" that every grandkid dreams of and the "Daddy" that every girl dreams...

I first began to know Kent when I started dating his sister and he was a freshman in high school. I was a little surprised to find how quick witted and intelegent he was. Having taught high school I was also surprised by how knowledgeable he was about state and world events. Even then he had a sharp sense of humor that belied his age. It was always a pleasure to be around him. He introudced me to a lot of good music that expanded my tastes. Through the years I watched him mature into a...

Uncle Kent in his Texas hat

I am Courtney Nice, Kent's niece and his sister's daughter. There are so many wonderful things I could say about him. He was a truly wonderful person. I think what most people will remember about him is his ability to make others laugh. It is a talent and a gift to make others smile. As they say smiles are contagious and I know that he left the world a better place since when we think of him we are able to smile. Uncle Kent I will miss you with all of my heart. And Erika, I love you and I am...

Kent was a wonderful and kind man.
I am thankful that my granddaughter had such a special man for her father and my great grandson was blessed to know and be loved by such a wonderful grandfather. He was very special to my daughter and my family for many years. He will be missed but I know he touched the lives of many people and left his mark on their heart with his gentle spirit. God bless. I love you Erika, Colton and Brenda. I am thinking of you all and you are in my prayers.
