The graveside service for Mr. Dewey Franklin Pressnell will be Monday, January 4, 2010 at 12:30 p.m. at Athens City Cemetery with Brother James P. Adams and Brother John Norman officiating. The visitation will be Monday, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at McConnell Funeral Home.
Mr. Pressnell died Saturday, January 2, 2010 at his home.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Joan Andrews Pressnell; one son, Michael K. Pressnell of Athens; two daughters, Tiffany D. Johnson and Mitzi R. Ball both of Athens; one sister, Iola Johnson of Huntsville; ten grandchildren, Miranda Pressnell, Dalton Pressnell, Andrea McCravy, Lexie McCravy, Hunter Johnson, Dakota Ball, Grayson Ball, Madalyn Ball, Colton Kimbrough, Marshall Kimbrough all of Athens.
Dewey Franklin Pressnell was born June 13, 1942 in Limestone County to James Granville Pressnell and Jessie Mae Hadden Pressnell. He was of the Baptist Faith. Mr. Pressnell was a Pharmacist Technician at Limestone Drug for 28 years. He worked at CPI for five years in maintenance.
He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, James Tilmon Pressnell, Dillard Clinton Pressnell, Clyde C. Pressnell, Huston D. Pressnell, and Willard Eugene Pressnell.
Pallbearers will be Barry McCravy, Russ McMurry, Mike Medlen, Jeff McDonald, Clay McDonald, and John Andrews.
