Not sure what to say?

I will always remember fondly this kind, gentle, intelligent gentleman. He always treated everyone with respect and kindness. He will not be forgotten.

On behalf of Interfaith Impact of New York State I extend our condolences to DeWitt's family. He was a loyal and valued member of our Board for years. We appreciated his wise counsel and steady contributions to our deliberations. "The memorial of virtue is immortal."
Dick Gilbert, President, IINYS

Dorothy--Warren and I will be thinking of you and your family during the memorial service on Saturday. Anne Roberts

Dorothy, I convey my deepest sympathy on De's passing to you and your family. He was such a kind, thoughtful man with a lively, inquisitive mind and will be sorely missed by so many.

De was my best friend and colleague on the faculty for forty six years.

I was dismayed to read of De's passing. He was a stellar person, a role model for all time to come. I wish we could have talked more about his fascinating work before he left us. It was a terrible loss.

With deepest sympathy,

Holly Sims

We are so sorry to hear of De's passing. He was truly a gentleman and a scholar and a pleasure to know. His devotion to India and to his research were inspiring.

Our sympathies go out to hs family.
From fellow India scholars Doranne and Jerry Jacobson

Dorothy, my deep sympathies to you and your family on the sad news of De's passing. He was truly a very gentle, sweet human being. He will be greatly missed. You are in my thoughts and prayers. Sunanda

De was a wonderful colleague at SUNY-Albany. He was also a true university citizen, always willing to serve on important committees and to share his wisdom, experience, and knowledge with students, faculty and administrators. We valued his participation and involvement enormously.

Unfortunately, I cannot attend his memorial service because I now live far away. However, you will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Sincerely,
