Not sure what to say?

Dexter hired me at Monsanto, the beginning of a career that lasted more than 40 years. I will always be grateful to him for that, and I remember him as a good manager, and a good person. It was good to hear of his work with butterflies - sounds like he found time to combine science with love of the outdoors. My condolences to his family.

Godspeed Dexter! You have always been a dear friend of our family. I love the twinkle in your eye and your great sense of humor. The world is a better place because of your scientific contributions. Sending love and hugs to your wonderful daughters and their families. Clam Lake and all of your friends here will miss you. With love and fond memories. Joy Stuebe Heinlein and family

Seeing the Sharp brothers laughing together is one of my great memories. We will all miss Dexter and his goofy sense of humor. Dear cousins, you have our condolences and heart-felt sympathy for your loss.
Love,
Wendy & Michael

Dexter was a dedicated scientist and mentor. I have fond memories of his support and encouragement to a new scientist at Monsanto.

Eva and I remember meeting Dexter in KC several times, once when he was tagging Monarchs at the Botanical Gardens east of KC on route 50. I worked with him at Monsanto for 25 years, he was a good friend and an all around good person. We liked him a lot.

Dexter, with his wonderful sense of humor, would have been tickled by his obituary. You daughters did him proud. Peace.

Dexter was definitely a gentleman and a scholar and lived such a rich, full life. We will miss his quiet, pleasant presence at summer gatherings on the Sharp-Johnson's back porch.

I am so sorry for your loss. The obituary is a wonderful tribute to your father.

Judy and Family: Have wondered where Dexter went when driving by the old Foster homestead, I too miss his dry wit and his awesome tomatoes!! I tell the story of when we first moved in next door to your folks and within the first month I was taking down two sweet gum trees right along the property line. I missed judged one limb and it clipped the corner of their house, evidently making quite a racket inside. Dexter walked out to the property line, looked down at the tree on the ground,...
