Dian Benson

Dian (Noonan) was a classmate of ours at Grand Rapids Central High from the late 1940s to graduation in 1953. In the Mock Election, that year, she was voted "Class Pest" but such a charming pest we had never seen before. And like another classmate, Roger B. Chaffee, we had no idea of the heights to which she would climb, nor the legacy she would leave
to her children and grandchildren.

Dian was very accomplished, yet not once did she share any of it with us. We were a small yet diverse group who came together after the loss of our mates. The four of us met almost weekly, enjoyed each others company and stories. Dian was very much our leader and her humor, goodness and friendship will always be treasured.
