Swartz Funeral Home - Flint Obituary

Diana D. Acken, age 96, of Swartz Creek, passed away October 27,2025.

Celebration of life will be held at 11:30am November 1, 2025, at The River Church of Burton, 2350 Hemphill Road.

Diana was born in Detroit, Michigan on April 13, 1929, to the late Joseph Pavkovich and Clara Stoich-Pavkovich.

Diana lived life to the fullest surrounded by family and friends. She enjoyed bingo, dancing, singing, bowling, and traveling with friends.

She especially loved spending time with her family and cherished those moments most of all.

Diana was a wonderful cook; she took pride in preparing meals that brought everyone together. She worked many years for Carman Ainsworth as a bus driver and secretary. She wore many hats during her life. One of the hats she was most proud of was sewing doll clothes. She was a proud Detroit Tigers fan, always cheering them on.

She will be remembered for her lively spirit, kind heart, and love for those around her.

She is survived by her daughters, Kathy Faltin, Janet (Greg) Beard and Maryann Acken; grandchildren, Kim (Gary) Wright, John (Lynette) Faltin and Mike Smith.

She also leaves behind her great-grandchildren, Emily Faltin, Kayla (Tyler) Price, Aaron (Hannah) Wright, Liam Smith, and Kaydence Smith; and great-great-grandchildren, Lincoln Wright, Juniper Wright, Zella Wright, Quinn Price, Palmer Price and Zayden William.

She is preceded in death by her sister Mary Norch, brother Chester Pavkovich and son-in-law Jim Faltin.

Special thanks to McLaren Hospice and Symphony of Linden.

Not sure what to say?

I remember you , , , Looks like you had a wonderful life.

May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow. Praying for Diane’s soul and may the family find strength in this difficult time.

I'm so sorry to see Dian's passing. We all used to have so much fun making meals for weddings, graduations with and for the bus drivers. Dian was such a beautiful little lady we all loved her so much. My mom passed away in 2020. Dad in 2005. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
