My Mother has asked me to write and send condolences:

"Diana and I met first when we enrolled in the QAs (Queen Alexandra's Imperial Military Nursing Service Reserves) in late 1944 at Woolwich, London. In 1945 we were posted to India travelling by sea to Bombay from where we went by train for three nights and two days to Barakpur, Calcutta.

In around September 1945 we were posted to Singapore where we served together. Our friendship forged during war time and long afterwards...

To Diana's family and close friends. Please accept my condolences on the loss of Dianna a wonderful courageous lady by anyone's standards. I will miss her letters and phone calls very much as she has been such an encouragement over the years.
