Frye Funeral Home, Inc. Obituary

Diana Curcio Shoulders, 77, of Monongahela, died unexpectedly Saturday, July 24, 2021 in the Monongahela Valley Hospital. She was born April 11, 1944 in Pittsburgh, the daughter of the late John and Isabella Vaccaro Curcio.
Diana was a pioneer for all women in chemistry and research. While working as a chemist at Gulf Research and Development in the early 70's, her work resulted in her being named an inventor on a chemical reaction patent. Diana loved traveling to Europe, Belgium and Andorra among her favorites, and cooking and baking for her family and friends. She especially loved a lively conversation, always willing to share her opinions and expertise.
She is survived by her very loving and devoted husband, Jack L. Shoulders with whom she celebrated fifty one years of marriage on August 23, 2020; nephew, Matthew Sichi and wife Christina of Monongahela; niece, Cynthia Marini Durler and husband Michael of Sun City, Arizona; and her lovable dogs, Hamish and Innis.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Angela Marini and Linda Sichi; and a brother, Gerald Curcio.
Friends will be received on Tuesday, July 27, 2021 from 6-9 PM in the Frye Funeral Home Inc., 427 West Main Street, Monongahela, where a blessing service will be held on Wednesday, July 28, 2021 at 10:00 AM. Committal services and interment will follow in the Sacred Heart Cemetery, Monongahela.

Not sure what to say?

dear Jack,
I am so sorry to learn of your sad loss. My stay in the US was a life changing experience made possible by the people who accepted me like I was part of the family. I learned the language and feld at home. I learned that the Americans can be quite Italian at heart.
Unfortunatly, I completely lost touch with you and it is tragic that only my occacional checking of the valley independent home page revealed Diane's passing to me. I wish I could have found you earlier to let...

With deepest sympathy. Warm memories of high school days.

Diana was a dear friend of my cousin Sissy, I know how much she will be missed. You have our deepest sympathy. Tom and Patsy Kostolansky

May her memory be a blessing.
