Practically very time I visited the Holland area, I made it a point to stop by the Shaker Messenger to say hello to Diana...and take home some wonderful Michigan treats. She was always a wonderful host at the store and let me sample lots of wonderful things before making my purchases. She was an absolutely wonderful person and I will miss seeing her smiling face in Holland.

Diana was a true gift! I met her about 18 years ago in her store. She was as dear as a person could be. She had the gift of engagement, and encouragement. Always a sparkle in her eye,and kind words to share. Holland lost a beautiful, caring, honest and kind soul. And anyone who knew her has a sense of loss in her passing. May you rest in peace my friend.

Dianna and Paul were always ready for excitement during the 2 decades we lived in Holland, whether is was Mother Ann's birthday dinner, glass recycling, or co-op buying. The community has lost a bright light.

Thoughts and prayers are with the family. We will miss Diana's bright smile every time we entered her store. We are very grateful for her support to local artists and all she did for downtown Holland. She will be missed but held in our hearts with many memories.

Diana was a unique person who was gifted with a drive to succeed when others would have paled and given up - she had a vision of what Downtown needed in the retail area and she shared her passion and love for folk art and all things Michigan. She brought cheer and delight to her store with the purchases that she made to sell in her store and she brought encouragement and work to artists. Folk artists have lost an advocate and a good friend. I was always uplifted when I shopped in her store by...

As a former Hope College student, and employee of the Shaker Messenger, I had the pleasure of working with Diana. I frequented the store so often she offered me a job there. Diana had a beautiful heart and strong mind complete with the perfect balance of progressive and traditional thinking, making her an essential member of the Downtown Holland Family. Her love and passion for bettering those around her though art, food and culture will always be remembered. Thank you for everything Diana.
