Byles Memorial Home - New London Obituary

Groton- Diana Marie Williams, 65, of Groton, passed away on Saturday August 16, 2025.


She was born on September 29, 1959, in New London, the daughter of Ron E. and Gloria (Palmisano) Abell.


Diana worked for Foxwoods Casino as a secretary for many years. Her previous employment included Ledyard Congregational Church and The Norwich Inn and Spa.


She was married to Earle A. Williams. He passed away in 2014.


Diana is survived by her daughter Antonina Thorstenson, and her husband James, of Groton and her brother Ron E. Abell, of Florida.


A graveside service will be held on Saturday, August 23 at 11am at Smith Lake Cemetery, Groton.

I’m sorry to hear of Diana’s passing. She was a wonderful, caring person. E went to high school together and as our kids were growing up we did Girl Scouts together. Always funny and cheerful. Yo will be missed, you are now will Earl having fun and without pain. God bless you!

You were like a second mother to me and I will miss you very much. You are so kind always to me always with open arms with a big smile on your face and I’m so grateful that me and Nina are best friends and hopefully one day we’ll meet again.
