Diane Calcamuggio (1951-2025)

Diane Lynn Calcamuggio, a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished grandmother, beloved daughter and sister, and dedicated teacher, passed away peacefully on October 9, 2025, at the age of 74.

Born on July 31, 1951, Diane lived a life defined by warmth, unwavering support for her family, and a bright, welcoming spirit that touched everyone she met. She poured her heart into her career as a teacher for 30 years, where she was known for her ability to connect with younger students through her caring personality. Her impact on countless young lives will be a lasting testament to her gentle spirit and dedication to education.

Diane also found great joy through her family. She was a devoted wife to Larry and the heart of her family, creating a home filled with love and kindness. Her most treasured moments were spent with her eight grandchildren, whom she adored. She also held a special place in her heart for holidays, especially Christmas, turning her home into a festive wonderland with her passion for decorating. In her leisure time, Diane enjoyed landscaping, shopping, and most especially, creating memories with family and friends at the cottage on Long Lake, on the Coldwater Chain of Lakes. These precious moments of relaxation and togetherness brought her immense happiness.

Diane is survived by her husband of fifty-two years, Larry Calcamuggio and her mother, Betty Seagert (101), three sons and their wives: Jeff (Christine) Calcamuggio, Todd (Alicia) Calcamuggio, and Scott (Codi) Calcamuggio. She was the proud grandmother to eight precious grandchildren: Iliana, Addisyn, Isabella, Alexa, Jacob, Benjamin, Elias, and Everly. She was preceded in death by her father Richard Seagert and brother, Kent Seagert (survived by his wife, Terri).

Diane will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her generous heart, her ability to make everyone feel special, the beauty she brought into the world through her teaching, and the unconditional love she showered on her family.

The family will receive guests for visitation from 3-7 p.m. on Thursday, October 16, 2025, at Foth-Dorfmeyer Mortuary, 1757 Tremainsville Rd (located within the Castillo Funeral Home) Toledo Ohio, 43613.

Funeral service will be the following morning, Friday, October 17, 2025, at 11 AM at Zoar Lutheran Church, 314 E Indiana Ave, Perrysburg Ohio, 43551.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Hospice of Northwest Ohio or Zoar Lutheran Church, or the charity of donor’s choice.

Diane – May you enjoy the lake breeze, and the sunshine on the water at Long Lake forever!

Not sure what to say?

Diane was the sweetest, most kind person I knew. She always made you feel very special when she greeted you with that beautiful, genuine smile. I can hear her soft voice and contagious laugh now. I know she will be missed by many, as she never met a stranger, only "new" friends! Larry, I´m so sorry for your family and please know you are in my thoughts.

My condolences ..she was a great lady

Single Memorial Tree

Diane was an amazing woman and dedicated educator. She was a regular at the Washington Branch Library. She went above and beyond the time spent in the classroom. She used her personal time to search out and request monthly collections of books to share with her students. These were not just any books, she looked for books that would help illustrate a point, provide comfort, or spark interest. We librarians visited her classroom many times and her dedication showed in how she provided a cozy...

She will be missed. Such a sweet and loving person. Jack and I are thinking and praying for your family. Sorry we will not be able to attend the service.
