Diane King Obituary

Diane Marie King
Aug. 1939 ~ Aug. 2011
Diane Benevento King August 1939 - Aug 2011 Diane King fought a courageous battle with cancer and never gave up. She passed away August 4, 2011 at home with her loving family at her side. She was an only child born to the late Ben and Marsha Benevento on August 13, 1939 in San Jose. She graduated from Willow Glen High School in 1957 and met the love of her life, RC King, in San Jose and they married in 1957. She moved to Turlock in 1979 and was employed as an Executive Secretary at Foster Farms for approximately 10 years and also did administrative work for the Turlock School District. Diane never met a stranger -- she befriended everyone. To know Diane was to love Diane. She was a social butterfly and brightened every room with her warm heart and smile. Diane belonged to the Red Hat Ladies and enjoyed antiques, bowling, gardening, driving her convertible, and her dogs. Her favorite place to visit was the Cement Boat at Seacliff Beach. She was a great "pie maker" and made the best lemon meringue pie ever! Diane is survived by her sons Rick (Lora) King of Turlock, and Kenny (Gina) King of Hughson. She was Nana to 5 grandchildren: Bryan, Jason, Kevin, Taylor and Mason King; and one great grandchild Hailey. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, August 11, 2011 at Allen Mortuary with a graveside to follow at 3:00 pm at Oak Hill Memorial Park in San Jose. Memorial contributions may be made in her name to Breast Cancer Research. Please share your memories at www.allenmortuary.com.

My Aunt Diane, sweet, good humored, unflapable and she was the poster-girl for good grooming (I never saw her with a hair out of place). She was always so well dressed, now I'm not saying the rest of us were slobs but when Aunt Diane showed up for Holidays She looked better than Jackie Kennedy, everything matched, She was always gorgeous, She stood out from the crowd like Mike Tyson at a Osmond family reunion, my lovely Aunt Diane. I loved to make her laugh,,the last time I made her laugh was at the Reno family reunion, me and our chihuahua Poncho put on a show with the hidden syringe of water under his belly,,everyone thought they were getting pee'd on, Aunt Diane and Aunt Betty tried to dive under the picnic benches, it was priceless. I shall wait with anticipation to see my beautiful Aunt Diane again, when we all meet again we shall laugh together about this life we shared, until then may God bless us all, say hi to all the family Aunt Diane, we will be there soon.

It is hard to understand why my dear Aunt Diane was taken away from us so soon. I will always remember her as a strong and vibrent lady. She was not just my special aunt but my best friend. I will miss all the fun we had when we could get together, and the daily chats on the phone.
You will always be in my prayer and heart. May you REST WITH THE ANGLES IN THE LORDS CASTLE...
