Diane Gilpin Rickman, 58, of Apex, passed away Sunday, January 19, 2014 at Rex Healthcare in Raleigh.
Diane was born October 18, 1955 in Mechanicsville, PA. She was a graduate of Old Dominion University in Norfolk, VA. Diane was employed with Hewlitt Packard as a PMI certified project manager. She was a member of the American Business Women's Association.
Diane was preceded in death by her mother, Joyce Gilpin.
She is survived by her husband of 36 years, Edward Eldridge Rickman, Jr.; daughter, Denise Rickman of Garner; father, Gerard Gilpin and his wife, Joyce of Sevierville, TN; brothers, Jerry Lee Gilpin of Suffolk, VA; Raymond Gilpin of Virginia Beach, VA; and Greg Gilpin of Urbana, IL.
A memorial service will be held 2 pm Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at Apex Funeral Home Chapel, 550 W. Williams Street, Apex, NC 27502. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

I had the pleasure of working with Diane at HP. You couldn't find a better co-worker. We also enjoyed swapping stories about our kids and family. Her love for her family and pride in her daughter, Denise, always came through. My prayers for Diane and her family continue.

Diane was such a laid back lady, always smiling and ready to chat at the mailbox about kids, work, life, and anything else we could think of. I will miss seeing her out in the neighborhood from time to time.

Diane was a wonderful neighbor and greeted me with a smile every time we passed on the road or by the mail box regardless of how her day may have been. Her loss is a bit shocking I'm sure to us all and she will be greatly missed. My prayers are with Diane and all of you as you remember her in the months and years to come.

I am so very sorry and could not believe the sad news. It made me think of Diane's always warm and friendly face and the conversations we had over the years about our daughters. She was always so very proud of her daughter, who should feel equally proud of her wonderful mother.

I enjoyed standing by the company coffee pot on occasion chatting with Diane whether it be in Cary, Greensboro, Charlotte or Atlanta HP offices. She had a way of giving me useful and creative insights to various sales situations we would discuss. She was charming, peaceful creative and respected.

I am so sorry to learn about Diane's passing. I know she will be missed by all that worked with her at HP. I worked with Diane off and on over several years. Most recently, I was hired to take on "part" of her responsibilities so she could retire. Those shoes have been hard to fill. RIP Diane!!!

I am so sorry to hear of Diane's passing. I worked with her for several years in the HP Cary office and she was always a happy, optimistic, bright co-worker, who could find a way to make any challenge resolvable.
