Diane Snipes, 50, of Chehalis, was finally overwhelmed by breast cancer on Tuesday, Dec. 18th 2007, at 3:30a.m. She was in the close care of her loving husband of 32 years and her two sons.
Diane was born April 21st, 1957 in Tillamook, OR, where she grew up and went to school. She married fresh out of high school and traveled the world with her then military husband.
She and her husband, Chuck Snipes, moved to the Chehalis area in 1995 where he works as a dispatcher for Sorenson Transport.
They have two sons, Chris & Jarrod Snipes both of Chehalis, and three wonderful, loving grandchildren, Kimberlee & Gary Snipes of Napavine and Cole James Snipes of Winlock.
Diane fought against breast cancer for the last 10 years of her life.
She was told on Sept. 5th of 2006 that her cancer had spread and the doctors gave her 12 to 14 months to live. During that final 15 months of her life she endured countless doses of eight different kinds of chemotherapy in search of something to slow down the growth of her cancer. She took chemotherapy agents made for kidney cancer, lung cancer and even one experimental drug. The cancer proved to be too agressive, the chemotherapy ineffective.
Diane was an avid gardener and spent all of her life around plants. She had a green thumb and could grow anything with ease. She enjoyed working in her garden and building things. She had a complete set of table saws, skill saws, all kinds of power tools and was an excellant carpenter.
She played and coached volleyball all of her life and was the JV Volleyball coach at Toledo High School for ten years before she became too sick to continue.
She received the most joy in her life from the love of her husband, sons and dear grandcildren.
Diane was very proud of her sons, Chris who now works as a CNA for Riverside Nursing, Centralia, and Jarrod a dealer at The Lucky Eagle Casino in Rochester. She attended her grandkids basketball games and soccer matches until just before she died. Words just can not express how much joy she got from her grandkids Kimberlee, Gary and Cole. She loved them with all of her heart.
Diane has donated her body to The University of Washington School of Medicine where she will now be involved in breast cancer research.
At her request, there will be no services. Close family will attend a private gathering in Diane's memory.
Please send donations to The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.

Not sure what to say?

I will always remember our trip to Crater Lake National Park in 1998 with Diane and Chuck. Becky and I had a great time all made possible by sharing that trip with them. I still feel that Crater Lake is the best park in the USA.

Nice tribute to your dear wife. Sorry for you loss - I know you will and always love her.

Diane loved her grandchildren deeply. She has very special feelings for her dear sweet granddaughter Kimberlee.
When Diane first got cancer back in 1997 it was Kimbers birth that gave Diane so much to live for. Kimber and Dianes love for one another sustained Diane for the rest of her life.
She will always be there for Kimber. Diane is now Kimbers guardian angel. Diane will always provide Kimber with love, soft advice and warmth.

I remember our visit from Atlanta to Chuck & Diane in 1998. At that time they lived in Winlock, Wa. We had a great time together driving around Washington and Oregon. Chuck and Diane helped me make a dream come true when we visited Crater Lake National Park. I loved it, and was very happy to be able to share it with my wife Becky, my brother Chuck, and my sister in law Diane.

I will miss her, and always love her.

Rest in peace.
