Diane Spera

Diane (Garruto) Spera, 89, of Clifton, N.J., died on Aug. 31, 2010. Funeral is from the Marrocco Memorial Chapel, 470 Colfax Ave., Clifton, on Saturday at 9:15 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Paul R.C. Church at 10 a.m. Interment is in Crest Haven Memorial Park, Clifton. Visiting is Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. www.marroccos.com. Mrs. Spera was born in Belleville, N.J.; she was raised in Nutley, N.J., and lived in Clifton for 35 years. She was a parishioner of St. Paul R.C. Church in Clifton and a member of the Clifton Senior Center. She received a Penmanship Award while attending Nutley High School. Her favorite pastime was crocheting and knitting. The beloved wife of the late Daniel Spera, she was the loving mother to Diane Villanueva, Eleanor Spera and Mary Spera, all of Clifton, and Frank Spera of Totowa, N.J.; sister to Peter Garruto of Woodbridge, N.J., and Connie Mc Govern of Union, N.J.; grandmother to Brian and Kristina.
