Obituary

Diane Denise (Peters) Wing, born on May 25, 1957 in Junction City, Kansas, to the late Elfriede Stahl and Robert Peters, passed away at age 61 on June 19, 2018 in Houston, Texas. Diane grew up in Twin Lakes, Wisconsin, graduated from Wilmot High School and Gateway Technical College in Kenosha, Wisconsin. For the last 20 years, she lived in Harlingen, Texas, along the Texas-Mexico border. Diane received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) in 2013. She was a Registered Nurse/ Tuberculosis Research Nurse at University of Texas Health Sciences Center in San Antonio in collaboration with the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) until retiring in 2018. She was preceded in death by her mother, Elfriede Stahl; and brother, Larry Peters. Diane is survived by her husband, Richard Wing; father, Robert Peters; stepfather, Roger Bonk; sons, Brian Wing and Cillian Wing; daughters, Sarah Soza and Shane Wing; brother, Steve Peters; and grandchildren, Austin Wing, Avery Soza, and Stella Wing. She also leaves behind her adored dogs, Mickey and Molly. Diane was a devoted mother and grandmother to her four children and three grandchildren. In her spare time, Diane enjoyed gardening, outdoor activities, hiking, going to the beach, traveling, playing guitar, painting, yoga, and DIY home improvement. Diane was always up for a new challenge. She had seemingly boundless energy, was remarkably adventuresome, and was willing to take risks in life. Diane was a loving wife and mother who gave her very best in the care of her family. Our loss is profound but our appreciation is unending.
