Mrs. Dianne Linda Babcock Skidmore, age 68, of Toccoa, passed away Friday, August 28, 2015 at her home. Born May 17, 1947 in Suffern, NY, she was a daughter of the late Arthur Harold and Elinor Louise Ryder Babcock. She was a member of the Toccoa First Alliance Church where she was the secretary for 18 years. Dianne loved gardening, bird watching and cooking for her family. She loved to read and spent many hours helping others and cooking for people. Family members include her husband of 48 years, Frederick Armour "Bud" Skidmore; daughters and sons-in-law, Melanie and Clint Shurtleff of Demorest and Jenna and Brad Ingrassia of Mt. Airy; sisters, Debra Ann Howell of Florence, AL and Rene`e Dawn Wood of Mint Hill, NC; brother, Arthur Harold Babcock of East Waterford, PA; grandchildren Jessica Anne Armour, Madison Raine Barclay, Kendall Marie Barclay, Grante Shurtleff, Drake Shurtleff, Luke Shurtleff and Ryan Shurtleff; great-grandchild, Lenox Jewel Armour; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Crae Eric Holland. Funeral services will be held at one o'clock Monday, August 31, 2015 at the Toccoa First Alliance Church with Dr. Scott Borderud officiating. Burial will follow at Roselane Cemetery. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers; Clint Shurtleff, Luke Shurtleff, Clarence Walker, Joshua Armour, Brad Ingrassia, and Arthur Babcock. The family will receive friends at the mortuary from 2pm – 4pm and 6pm – 8pm Sunday, August 30, 2015. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to A.W.A.N.A. The family will be at the home. Whitlock Mortuary is in charge of the arrangements.
