Dick Olmstead Maher

We are saddened to hear of Dick's passing.Our thoughts and prayers are with you Ann and with your family.
Dick was a very special person to me during my time at SHS and I have always had the utmost respect and admiration for him. He helped many student/athletes become coaches and teachers. I know he had a great influence on me. I will surely miss him. I am lucky to have known him and had him as a teacher and coach.

Please accept our deepest regrets as Mr Maher was my gym teacher in school and i knew him and liked him very much.

It is amazing to think of the thousands of student/athletes that are better for having been under Dick's guidance since 1957. We are all better persons because of it. From personal experience, I know that the whole Maher family made sacrifices necessary to support a coach/administrator/educator who worked long, odd hours. Thank you very much for sharing him with so many of us.
