Diego, 17, and Daniel Rivera, 14, of Denton, Texas passed away January 9, 2019 in Denton. Diego was born June 19, 2001 and Daniel was born September 14, 2004. Both boys were born in Denton, Texas to Ricardo and Elizabeth (Salazar) Rivera. They we’re members of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and lived in Denton all their lives.
Diego attended Guyer High School where he was a Senior. He worked at TJ Maxx as a sales associate and loved to play soccer. Daniel attended Calhoun Middle School, where he played football.
The boys were so happy all the time, they always had smiles on their faces. They enjoyed spending time with the family. They were always together, they never let each other out of their site. Diego was always trying to participate in all school activities and was very competitive. He was very friendly and very sociable. He made friends everywhere he went. Daniel was just like his older brother, Diego. Daniel always looked up to Diego and wanted to be the same way. They loved when Sunday came, they knew it was family day. They woke up and we all got ready to go have breakfast, and then we went to church. After church the boys would choose what the family would do for the day, we would all agree. They loved to go to school and see their friends, they were excellent students. They both wanted to graduate like their big sister, Frida. Over all the were the sons, brother and friend anyone could ask for. Always Happy. They will truly be missed by everyone who knew them.
Diego and Daniel are survived by their parents, Ricardo and Elizabeth Rivera and sister, Frida Rivera.
Visitation will be held at the Rivera’s Home, 717 North Ruddell Street, Denton, Texas 76209, on Saturday, Jan. 19 and Sunday, Jan 20. from 10 A.M-10 P.M. The Funeral Mass will be at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church on Monday, January 21, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. Interment will follow the service at Roselawn Memorial Park in Denton.

I didn't know Diego very well but I did work with him at TJ Maxx. He had an enjoyable personality and everyone liked him. I remember I could see him across the store at the front registers and would think, what a cute big kid with all that curly brown hair. It was heartbreaking to hear the news coming to work the next day. It's still hard for us at the store.
There is a silly picture of him still up in the break room and his name is still included with goals reached on the bulletin...
